A Farmers and Settlers' Conference strongly urged the Federal and State Governments to adopt an up-to-date scheme for agricultural immigrant labour.

The Hon. Mr Beeby, Minister for Labourj states that teadheris can form a union, but he does not see how the •industrial board would -benefit them. As far as salaries were concerned they were entirely dependent on how much Parliament voted.
