The Count. v$ Convocation of theMiddle University Dii«(feracfc ' held a special meeting to-night to consider several points referred to the , Court 'by the Senate oif New Zealand. University. In connection with the reconstruction of the course® for the arts, and science degrees, it-was re'solved that icr the B.A. and -B.Sd. pass degree there ibe substituted a B.A. pass degree, Heading to the M.Sc. degree on the scienoe side, and the iM.A. degree on the arts •side. It'was also resolved that if the B.A. and B.Sc. degrees be amalgamated, no special pass degree be nven in science; that it is desirable that the course adopted by every student, should be approved by the professorial Board; that no subject should be loompulsory for B.A. degree except in so far as- compulsion is neoessary for a homogeneous course; that the Conference urges on the Senate the desiraibility of holding a conference to deal with the details of the arts and science courses.
