INTERESTING EXPERIMENTS.

Initerestng experiments in the inanpjtfaoturc of oloth from seaweed have ibeen made during the past few weeks in West Yorkshire, with fairly successful results. The -seaweed comes from the South Australian coast, and (for .many years the natives have used it for .the manufacture of ropes and fishing nets. A member of one o& the Leeds firm who have been making experiments told an Express representative t&at it had ibeen found quite possible to manufacture a good strong and very cheap cloth (front seaweed, but as yet the -productwas almost :too rough and oanrassy to-

make up into clothes. It is thought that better results may be obtained Iby (tlhe combination of wool or shoddy with the weed, and further experiments' are being made.
