TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Offico this evening issued the fallowing summary and forecast:— _ There has been little movement of the barometer, but, except in the northern and southern-onost districts, the wealther has been fair and the winds moderate, chiefly from the westward. Rain has fallen in the southem districts, and ,the weather has been very squally in Foveaux istraat. Present indications are for unsettled weather and (the development of >a southerly storm, ■• which may prove of considerable intensity. The change may not take place for about 36 hours; but the conditions 1 are now somewhat ominous. Moderate to strong westerly winds and changeable weather, with fall of barometer, will probably precede a rapid rise, and rain in moslb parts of the country, with snow on higher levels.
