PICTURES. A. large audience ' greeted the ohauige of programme at the Foresters' Hall last evening, when an exceHent series of picturesi was screened < In-, ftflie dramatic portion, "The ■Gaanfbler'iS Charm" was a capital subject, full of sensation, and hold-_-ing .the attention of the audience throughout. The American Biograph Company presented another of their "" realistic works, entitled "Fisher F01k,." which viyidly .portrayed the .toilers of the sea in a preftty roman- . tio story. "Love: and the Law" " faithfu% depioted a thrilling story ■of a woman's,self-sacrifice a,nd her reward; ■ "She Stoops to Conquer." provided plenty of intense situa- j tions-, vet with a theme of amusing j •comedy of an. original character run- | tang jthrough' it. : "My Daughter" was a pathetic little story, while "A Double Elopement" was one of the best comedy-dramas the '• Vita-graph Company has yet produced. "Sports. ■in Switzerland," with snow-clad surroundings and winter pastimes forms .a most pleasing ffud delightful subject. The scenic pictures include a charming travel series: "The Geraninaition of Plants" and "The Manufacture of Gas Mantles" are two very interesting studies. ' "Pathe'a Gazette" illustrates the world's latest events. The comic element is well privided for with many laughter makers of no mean quality, and in•oludes l)he world's champion funny •men va several side-splitting "turns v ' '•Ehe programme will oe repeated this -evening; The usual children's .matinee wOl take place on Saturday af■ternoo% at 2.30 o'clock.
