I JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE. By Telegraph—Press Association. JOHNSON VILLE, Last Night. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their JohnsonviJle sale, as followsA full entry of cattle and sheep met with rather a dull sale, and realised the following prices : Prime heavy bullocks, £lO 2s 6d to £lO 17s 6d; lighter, £9 10s to £9 15s; light, £9 5s to £9 7s 6d; good wethers, 17s 8d ; plain wethers, 16s Id; prime ewes, 155.9 d to 16s 5 plain ewes, 14s 3d; prime lambs, lis to 12s 2d; good lambs, 10s. LONDON WOOL SALES. , Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London agents, dated the 11th inst.: — The sales have opened on a par to 5 per cent down on the closing rates of May series. Prospects for September are very uncertain. Scoured and Islipe wools are mostly affected. MASTERTON WOOL AND SKIN SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as I follows: —We held our usual periodi- | cal sale of wool, skins, hides, anil 1 tallow yesterday, and although the market for both wool and skins was fully 5 to 7\ per cent, lower than our last sale rates, competition was keen for all classes. We quote Wool—- . good, to 6d, medium, 3d to sfd, inferior, 4d to 4£d, seedy, to 3Jd; crosbred, to 7£d; bellies and pieces, to 4d. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Asociastion, Ltd., report as follows: —We held our monthly sale of ,wool, sheepskins, hides, etc., yesterday, when we offered 30 bales wool, 100 bags wool, 1000 sheepskins, 160 / hides and calfskins.. There was a large attendance of buyers, who operated freely throughout the catalogue at present market values, which we regret to say are slightly easier than those ruling at our previous sale, owing to the decline in the Home market. We quote:—Wool. —Baled crutchings, 4sd to 6d; baled crutchings, seedy, 3|d ; bagged crutchings, 4§d to 5Jd; locks and pieces, 4§d; dead wool, 6d; fleece, dingy 6£d; locks, 3£d to 3|d; lambs, 6£d; black, i 53d. Messrs Levin and-Co., litd., report:—We offered yesterday 85 bales of wool, 1700 sheepskins, and a quantity of hides, horsehair, etc. . There was the usual satisfactory attendance of buyers, and good competition for all produce offered. Crutchings generally were easier, in sympathy with the present tone of the London market; but we sold six j bales from "Brammerton" and several other good lots at 6£d, which is equal to the last sale price. We quote: — Wool.—Fleece, oddments and crossbred, 6£d to 7d; best crutchings, 6d to 6jd; medium crutchings, s£d to sfd; seedy and inferior crutchings, 4d to sd; locks and pieces, 3§d to sd. Sheepskins.—ln good demand at recent rates. We quote:—Fine crossbred, 6sd to 7d; good crossbred, 6£d "j to 6Jd; Hoggets, 6Jd to 6£d; lambs, > 6d to ojd; dead skins, fd to sd. Hides.—Ox and cow, 5d to sfd; calf, 6d to 7|d. Tallow.—Casks, £25 os per ton; tins, £2O 15s per ton. Horsehair. —Is 5d to Is 7sd per lb . Our next sale will be held on August 23rd, 1911.

MASTERTON STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows regarding their weekly stock sale at the Solway yards yesterday:— : Our catalogue embraced practically all classes in sheep, and the quality being good in most cases we had no difficulty in selling 'or making good rates. In fats we offered three pens of exceptionally heavy good quality ewes, these making the best price of the season so far, viz., 18s. The other pens of fats were on the rough side. Ewes made up to 12s, weathers 15s. In store weathers a good straight line 'good lot of 350 woolly made 10s 6d, (other lambs, small, to 7s; forward •ewes, up to lis; light store ewes, to 9s. In dairy stock, good springers £7.29 6d. Messrs Dal get y and Co., Ltd., re.port having heW their usual weekly sale at the Solway yards yesterday, when they offered a very small yarding of both cattle and sheep, which met with good competition, arid all lots changed hands at full market

rates. Thoy quote as follows: —Fat wethers, 15s 6d to 15s 7d; fat ewes, 14s; empty ewes, 8s 3d; f .m. ewes, in lamb to Romney rams, to 10s. Cattle. —Late springing cows, poor condition, to £4.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report having held a private sale on account of Mr F. W. Burling, of Carterton, on Thursday last, of his well known herd of dairy cows numbering 51, which were in very good condition. All the cows were keenly competed for,"' and bidding was brisk to the last, good prices being realised throughout. Some bows brought from £9 to £lO 10s, the whole herd realising the good average of £7 15s. Other lines offered are as follows:—Sow, with litter, £2 12s 6d to £3 breeding sow, 325; Berkshire boar, £2 15s; separator, £6 ss; drill, £2O 10s j cart saddles to 15s; Duncan plough, £l3 12s 6d; set discs, J £lO.
