DAIRY PRODUCE IN LONDON.
THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR.
Mr G<willim, dairy produce' grader at Wellington, who was recently selected by he Agricultural Department -to go Home as inspector of dairy produce in London, has intimated to the Hon. T. Mackenzie that he cannot see his way to accept the appointment. This announcement -was made by the 'Minister of Agriculture at Carterton, replying to congratulations from dairymen upon.the recant appointment, which, was stated to be one of very great promise and importance to the whole industry. The Minister added that he had asked the Dairy Comjmissioner, Mr Cuddle, to recommend the best man on the staff of the department for the position. It was the desire of the. depaimont to station an officer in London whose duty it would he to tell the producers exactly, from the scientific and practical points of view, the condition in which dairy produce arrived in England.
