BOATLOAD OF CHINES* ATTACKED.
AN EFFECTIVE DEFENCE
(Received Last Night, 11.15 o'clock.) LONDON, July 12. In connection with the strike at Cardiff, the seamen heard that there was a vessel in the docks with a load of Chinese. The pickets evaded the police, and boarded the vessel, ru-hing the forecastle. The Chinese faced them with-drawn knives. The pickets withdrew and contented themselves with pelting the Chinese with coal.
