MR JOHN STRANG.
ANOTHER PRESENTATION. On Monday last the settlers of Longbush, Gladstone, and district, waited upon Mr John Strang at Ms •homestead at Glenside, to wish him good-lbye on his departure for the> Old Country. Mr Herbert Hodge, as (spokesman, expressed the wish ■that the object sought by Mr Strang in, hi® visit to the Old Country -would be attained, and that, he would return to the land of his adoption much benefited by the journey. On behalf of the neighbours, he asked Mr Strang to .accept a purse of sover- ! ©igns, which was a small token of their esteem and high appreciation of his work in the- district. Mr Strang, in reply, said he had only done his duty a.» a settler, winch was comparatively easy with such good neighbours all around him. He would look forward to the time when [ he would be back amongst them again. . ► At the moating of the Wairarapa South' County Council, Mr Strang was granted leave of absence, .and. the members shook hands with him, > and wished him a pleasant voyage l and speedv return in restored . health.
