•OPENING TO-MORROW. The first annual competition,s in connection with the Masterton Musical and Elocutionary Competitions •Society open rim itihe Town Hall at 10 : a.ni. tenmorrow. Dr J. C. Brad•shaTy, of Ghiistohurch, will judge the instrumental and vocal-contests, and Mr C. M. Baeyiertz, of Wellington, the elocutionary contests. Altogether no fewer than 352 entries have been received for the various Competitions, which wall extend over On Friday evening V grand' demon- ". .and concert will I>e given by "the 'sfdccesafui ; competitors in the •Town Hall, when the prizes won at the contests will be presented. Mrs F. r Montague, of .Wellington, will act as accompaniste to the musical competitions. Competitors will be able to glean any information they desire (from the secretary (Mr W. Gillespie) who will be in attendanoo at the Town Hall at 9 a.m. to-mor-row-. It is specially requested that competitors ascertain wihether their names are o mthe re-call hoard; othenvise they will be liable to be left -out of the finals. The first contest -to -be taken to-morrow morning will be the imusdcal monologue "Game of life," in• wtbaoh. there are fourteen *ompatitors.
