At an enquiry into the running of Arquebus prior to his winning the Grand National Hurdle Race, the committee accepted the owner's and jockey's, statements. PERTH, July 7. The Crown withdrew the original smuggling charges against the captains of the Dutch schooners Fortuna and Harriet, as an honorary magistrate was on the Bench, and the Court had no jurisdiction. Fresh indictments were made in five charges, including smuggling, and the evidence is proceeding.
