IMPORTED PRODUCE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received July 5, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, July 4. In the House of Commons, Mr H. Barnston's Bill for marking all imported meat and agricultural produce, and also for the registeration of dealers, was read a first time.
PAHIATUA STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgefcy and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale on the 4th inst., when they offered only a small yarding of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle, which sold well up to late rates, weaners being in fair demand. Two-tooth wethers made lis; 4-year bullocks, to £5 10s; Siyear bullocks, £4 7s; mixed weaners, to 83s j cows in calf, £4 2s 6d to £5. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows—We had a very good yarding of sheep, and a, moderate entry of cattle. There was an improved tone for sheep, and we disposed of the whole entry, except one pen, at values slightly in advance of late rates. Cattle sold as usual. Quotations —Young ewes in lamb, 12s. 6d; sound mouth ewes in lamb, 6s 6d to 7a 9d; forward empty ewes, 7s Id to 9s; store erwes, 3s to 4s 6d; good mixed hoggets 8s 7d to 9s 6d; medium hoggets, 6s 8d to 7s 2d, small hoggets, 3s to 5s Id; ewe hog- , gets, 8s 3d; wether hoggets, 6s 7d to 7s 3d; 2-tooth wethers, 12s 9d to 13s; mixed fat and forward sheep, 12s Id; light fat heifers, £o 2s 6d to £5 10s; fat cows, £4 10s to £6; good dairy cows, £5 15s to £8; cows in calf, £2 3s to £3 7s 6d; springing heifers, £5, to £5 10s; weaners, 30s. ■■ ;.
