MEAT TRUST.
«>- ALLEGED TO EXIST IN SYDNEY. (Receivea Last Night, 9.40 o'clook.) SYDNEY, July 5. A deputation of carcase butchers which waited upon the Hoar. Mr Flowers, denied the existence of a meat ring-acting in restraint of the trade. They had endeavoured to corner the slaughtering space, as alleged by a former, deputation. One speaker declared that lit was rumoured that an. American Meat Trust was behind the competition, endeavouring to squeeze them out. The Hon. Mr Flowers said that every deputation Warned somebody else for the meat trust. He promised an enquiry.
