MR BUCHANAN AT TAUERU.
(By Our Own Correspondent.) * Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P., addressed a meeting of electors at the Lower Taueru on Tuesday evening. The chair was occupied by Mr A. G. Pilmer. In the course of his address, Mr Buchanan described how important meas-ures-had been "bullocked through"' the House at the last session, and he severely criticised the new method of electing Harbour Boards. After dealing with' the borrowing and retrenchment policies of the .Government, he declared that owing to the richness of its resources New Zealand continued prosperous in spite of misgovern ment and waste of public money. Mr Buchanan dealt with the politics of the day on similar lines as at Carterton and elsewhere, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
