AMUSEMENTS.

• —— THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. TJio largo a-uclierxo at the Fores-, tors' Hall last evening was well repaid for their visit, as the programme was one of the best Messrs Thompson and Payne have placed before their patron®. "Cain," an adaptation of Jules Northolde's. famous novel, was a sterling subject capably acted. "The House with the Glased Shutters'--' gave the American Bio Co.'® artists plenty of scope for good acting, and they, were not. found wanting "in their:'task. AiujfchW-vecy acceptable drama was that entitled; "The Floating Message," a tale of! the ,sea. "The' Girl in the Film"- was a splendid Vitagraph comedy,- abounding in hmnorous situations. A very pretty scenic was "Over Rocks and Ice," while to those of an inquiring tuna of mind a collection of pictures from the Far East were of great in-' terest. Mirth and .merriment were contained in. ' 'The Awakening of Bashful Willie," "Paid Boots and Stolen Boots," "Charles Becomes a. Jap Warrior," and "The Bewitched Boxing Gloves." Appropriate music was rendered by the "T.-P." orchestra. The prpgraimme mil be repeated this evening. As a special treat for their patrons, Messrs Thompson ' and Payne have secured the great Vitagraph Company's dramatic masterpiece, "The Tale of Two Cities," which is recognised a« the finest picture of its kind ever produced.
