NEW ZEALAND'S DREADNOUGHT.
The cable gives a, glowing description of the launching of the battle?ship "New Zealand." Sir Joseph Ward, Bart., has been most profuse in his declarations of New Zealand's loyalty .and devotion to the flag. He has told the folk at the that "th&'meople of New Zealand nad found the money immurmuringly." But why did he not state that the gift was made without the people, of their representatives, being given a chance to murmur ? Why did he not read the message he had sent to the newspaper editors of the Dominion on the eve of his making the offer? .(Why-did he not. state, that he had iforokein every known rule- of political decency, by ignoring j members of Parliameirt in. the matter? Why did'he not. tell fhe whole; truth, while he waiSaiboufcitr? Because, forsooth, he dare not, iflor shame's sake. '
