MASTERTON RACING CLUB.

MEETING OF STEWARDS. The monthly meeting of Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club was iheld on Saturday last. There were present,— Messrs C. A. Pownall (in tihe ohair), J. B. Moodie, J. Macara, W. Cooper, C. J. Bennett, J. lorns, A. J. Welch, F. E. Dorset, A. Beside, D. MaLadhlan, and G. H. Yates. A letter was read from the secretary of the N.Z.i Racing Conference, stating that must be forwarded to the" Metropolitan Club of the district'not later than 10th July, 1911. The same; gentleman forwarded a list of "dates applied for by Baoing Clubs for the season, 191112, lafid stating that the XWmiits Committee will meet at Wellington on 17tlh July. , /The secretary of the Taraiahir Carterton Racing Club advised that Boxing)J>ay had been applied for as' the date for the annual meeting. ■ Tiie, New Zealand Sporting League ; Gqommaifebee wrote, stating that a meeting of representatives off all racing, and trotting clubs throughout New Zealand would be called for Tuesday, 18th July, at Wellington, and'asking the Club to appoint a delegate or delegates- to attend, the meeting. The object of the conference .wasto form a Sporting League, with a. view to protecting legitimate sport, and especially the totalisator. —-The chairman thought that the I Club .should be represented at this oxtifereince,—-The President and secretary were appointed delegates to the conference, in conjunction with Mir O. C. Cooper. The Tlhames Jockey Club asked .that delegates be appointed to rep-, resent the dub at a meeting of' delegates from country ißaoing dubs to be !held in Wellington.— Received.
