WELLINGTON LAND BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wellington Land Board was held on Thursday, there being present: The Chairman (Mr James Mackenzie, Commissioner of Crown Lands), and Messrs J. Georgetti, W. M'Leunan, J. Dawson, and H. T. Ellingham. APPLICATIONS FOR TITLES. The following applications for land titles were granted : Section 6 A Block 111, Mount Cerberus—C. M. Meavers; Section 4a, Block VI, Mount Cereberus—W. E. Woods. Messrs W. H. and H. Bagley applied to obtain the freehold title of S ection 2, Block IV, Mount Cerberus, 99 acres 1 rood 37 perches.—Approved. With reference to Mr G. Hyde's application to obtain the freehold title of Section 18, Block X, Aohanga, 200 acres, the Crown lands ranger forwarded his appraisement of the capital value. A copy of the same is to be sent to the selector. MORTGAGES AND SUB-LEASES. Mortgages in respect of the following lands were approved:—Sectkn 4, Block VII, Puketoi; section ; \ Blocks X, XI, and XVI, Mangaonc; Section 2, Block IV, Taurangi (Dyer Settlement); Section 23, Block XVI, Wairarapa (Dyer Settlement); Section 6, Block VI, Huangarua (Dyer Settlement). APPLICATIONS FOR TRANSFERS.
The following transfers were approved on the usual conditions: — Section 83, Block I, Makuri (Mangaramarama V.S.)—F. Woods to H. Cowan ; Section 29, Pahiatua V.S.—A. Harrell to K. H. Humphrey to A. Funstori; Section 7 (Lot 7), Block VIII, Makuri—J. Quinn to D. C. Humphrey; Section 4, Block XVI, Maungakaretu—J. Gray to T. Brady; Section 2, Block XVIII, Mangahao (Pahiatua.V.S.) C. A. Barrell to A. M. Johns; Section 3,' Block XIII, Huangarua (Dyer Settlement) —A. Frethev to R. and D. Flynn; Section 6, Mangaone V.S—G. E. Evans to' C. E. Evans
The Board also approved of the subdivision and surrender of portion of Section 9, Block XVI, Huangarua (R. M'Leod), for school site. Mr W. Hall applied to transfer Section 3, Block 11, Mangahao, 200 acres, to T. Roulston. —Consideration postponed. Mr E. Blake applied -to transfer Sections,26 and 27, Block V, Mount Cerberus, 75 acres, to Mrs M. J. Hayes. The' Commissioner informed the board that under terms of the special authority to that effect he had approved of the transfer of Section 2a, Block XI, Mangahao, 118 acres 3roods 24 terches, to Mr C. Hawke. ] With reference to the application of { Mr W. H. Fiske to transfer Section 4a, Block XI, Mangahao, MacKenzie S.S., 123 acres 0 roods 8 perches, to Mr George Gregory, declined by the board last meeting, Messrs Smith and I M'Sherry asked the Board to re-con-I sider the matter.—Previous decision , adhered to, Mr Ellingham dissenting. j With reference to the proposed transfer of section 21, Block XIII, Mangahao, 200 acres, from Mr R. H. Hughes to Mr A. D. Bryant, which the Board declined on December 21 last. Mr Bryant wrote asking that the application bfc reconsidered.—Approved. Mr J. A. Y. Lammas renewed his application to transfer Section 8, ; Block XIII, Huangarua, Dyer Settle;ment, 374 acres, to Mr E. M. Robert- ''. son.—Application approved provided 'a fresh declaration is put in by Mr Robertson and everything is is order/
