NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.), . WELLINGTON, Last -Night; l The Rev. D. C. Batesy of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast :—< The barometric pressure has increased everywhere,, and; a storm has developed in the north. South-s'-stcr-ly wia is, strong to gale, prevailed in ; and northward of Cook Strait, and variable winds elsewhere. Run hits fallen in the far north, and on the East Coast northward of Kaikoura. Present indications are for cold an:l damp weather generally. Heavy rain is expected on the East Coast northward of ..j Kaikoura, and rain is probable aVer the North Island. Southeasterly* v inds, strong to gate, probable northward of Farewell Spit, Kaikoura, and moderate to strong easterly winds prevailing elsewhere. Bare- | meter has a slightly falling tendency, j but will probably rise again shortly.
