LICENSING BALLOT PAPER. \To the Editdr.l Sir,—l see by the Age that tlw voting paper to be used at the next licensing poll is as follows:—"I vote for ! Continuance. I vote for No-License." I Surely, in a No-License disr.net-, ihi*cannot be correct. "Continu'imfi"' must be a continuance of the present, conditions, and if one strikes ovt the i top line, is he not voting for and I against the continuance of Xo- [ Licenser Should not the word "res- ! toration" appear in place of "contin- j uance?" Also, why is the Dominion pallot-paper not also inserted.—l am, j ete., SOAKER, I Pahiatua, June 28, 1911. ' (The Wairarapa Age circulates in all parts of the Wairarapa and FortyMile Bush districts, and the ballotpaper published in an advertisement has special reference to licensed areas. A new form of ballot-paper will be used in the Masterton electorate.— Ed. Age.) ______ PICTURE SHOWS. , ITo The Editor,) Sir,—lt was with feelings -of great satisfaction that I read iii your issue' of this morning the action.of a deputation from the National Council of \ Women and other Women's Associa tions in Sydney, asking that a strict censorship on films of moving pictures shows be enforced by the legislature, especially in theinterest of children. The deputation had the Hon. Mi Beeby's sympathy, on whom they waited, and no doubt his Government will legislate in the direction, <is out-; lined by the deputation. I hope that something of a similar nature will be i done in New Zealand, and is, in my ! opinion, urgently required, I. am mov- j ed to make these remarks owing to the! kind of pictures which I have myself seen in parts of the Dominion. Some I of these are unsuitable for adults, let alone children. I trust that some abler pen than mine will take this., mat-i". ter up. Thanking you in anticipation;. I"am, etc., ■ : '■:; . , .
