I A NICE FRUIT CAKE.—HaIf a pound of flour, five ounces of butter, a quarter of a pound of sugar, one ounce of citron peel, two tabiespoonfuls of currants, two tablespoonfuls stoned raisins, one level teaspoonful of baking powder, two eggs, a quarter of a teasDoonful each of ground ginger and cinnamon, a quarter of a cupful of milk. Beat the butter and sugar to a oream, then add the ■.-vr.ll™ „* 4.T,- „„ 11 1 . _. .», along .powder, add the fruit, stored tlie peel and add it, then add the milk, and whites of eggs stiffly beaten, mix gently, pour into a buttered and floured cake tin. Bake in. a, moderate oven for two hours. This is an excellent cake to serve with "Dragon" brand tea, ~This tea is one of the popular brands on the market, the others being "EleDhan*," "Crescent," and "Mikado" blends, either of which will please tihe palate. The Dragon -Blend 4s. very rich, and very economical in tneteapot. It is very strong and less, of tihe tea must be served, as compared with other teas, to obtain a given amount of liquor... The "Dragon" blend. is soH. at 2a 8d per lb, and is obtainable from most grocers. ?V your district.
