MO. HLY MEETING. (By Telegraphs-Special "to the Age.) WELLINGTON, JiaJb Night. At the monthly meeting of the Wellington Education Board to-day, grants were made for repairs, etc., at Waingawa, Carterton, MJaagaone, Marbinborougjhi, Ooonoor, Feroiridge, and Pahiatua. A request from the Ihuraua School for a. bridge over the creek was referred to the Clerk of Works for a report. , The question of increased. a*comm«dia)fciioin! at, Kahautarai and Glare? ville wa& referred to the Inspector for a, report. The Clerk of Works wifl visit Lansdowne on Thursday, to report in regard to an application for the fencing of a section recently acquired by the Committee. . The question of a residence at Whakata'a was deferred for a time. It was reported - by the Secretary 1 that the transfer of the reserve at Nireaha to the Land Board had been definitely arranged, and <all that was now required to be, done was to Gazette the transfer. It was decided, that the thanks of the Board be passed to the Mjaaterton County Council for the use of the reserve at ( Lower Taueru. Am additional library subsidy was granted to the Ihuraua School. It was stated by the Inspectors that steps were being taken to improve the acaommodation at the Miki Miki School. The Health Department notified that it could'not recommend the' provision of a septic tank at Kopuararaga. ' v - ; v "■"''''"';'" ■ .';'\ .;'•■'_ • '•' ■'■"''• '' The ;Gov«rnment declined to make a grant additions to the residence -at Mangatainoka. The tended- of Mr G Benton was accepted for the erection of a new : school at Saunders Road, Alfredton. Mr R. B. Ross, M.P., waited on the Board in reference to an aided school at Maku, and on the motion of Mr A. H. Vile, it was decided that the? school be provided the site suggested 'by Mr Ross. It'was stated by the Secretary, in answer to Ma- Vile, that plan® have been agreed oil for a new assembly hall at the Masterton District Biglh School, and that application would be made to the Government in the matter at once. The resignations of ML* L. Smith of, Te'' Ore Ore, Miss Oaverhill, of Waihoki Valley, and Miss )Stace, of rPntara, were accepted. \ Mr A. B. Thompson was appointed sole teacher, at Makairo, Mass M. Wilson assistant at Bukanui, and Mr D. Lamibert teacher at Hinemoa.
