A NICE FRUIT CAKE.—HaIf a pound of flour, five ounces of butter, a quarter of a pound of sugar, one ounce of citron peel, two tablespoonfuls of currants, two tablespoon!uls stoned raisins, one level teafipoonful of baking powder, two eggs, a quarter of a teaspoonfuil each of ground gSnger and cinnamon, a quarter of a cupful of milk. Beat the butter and sugar to a oream, then add the yolks of the eggs well beaten, sift in the flour and baking powdwr, add the fruit, shired the peel and add it, then add the milk, and whites of eggs stiffly beaten, mix gently, pour into a buttered and floured oake tin. Bake in. a. moderate oven for two hours. . This is an excellent cake to serve with "Dragon" brand tea. This tea is on© of the popular brandß on the market, the others being "Elephant,' ' ' 'Orescent,'' _ and ' |Mikado'' blends, either of which will please the palate. The Dragon Blend, is very rich and very economical in the teapot. It is very strong and less of the tea must be served, as compared with other teas, to obtain a given amount of liquor. The "Dragon" blend is sold at 2s Bd. per lb, and is obtainable from most grooera in your district.
