A NICE FRUIT CAKE.—HaIf a pound of flour, five ounces of butter, a quarter of a pound of sugar, one ounce of citron peel, two tablespoonMs of currants, two taMespoocnfolsstoned_ raisins, one level teaspoonfral of balding powder, two eggs, a quarter of a teaspoonful each of ground ginger and cinnamon, a quarter of a cupful of milk. Beat the butter and sugar to a cream, then add the yolks of the eggs well beaten, sift in the flour and baking powder, add the fruit, shred the peel and add it, then add the milk, and whites of eggs stiffly beaten, mix gently, pour unit© a buttered and floured oake tan. Bake in a moderate oven for two hours. This is an excellent cake to serve with. brand tea.
