MASTERTON COMPETITIONS.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the GeneraFCommitteV'of the Masterton Musical and Elocutionary Oompetitioius Society was held, last nigjht, Mr G. R. Sykes in the ohair. The report of the sub-committee appointed, to draft the official programme for the competitionis was received,, considered, and adopted, with a few minor alterations. It was. decided that Mrs Kendall be asked to judge the action song for school children.

It was resolved to ask Mr Fen ton, art master at the Technical School, to supply design for medals and certificates.

The Rev. Mr Hodge kindly volunteered to act as assistant supervisor to take charge of the competitions in the Wesleyan Schoolroom. It was decided that His Worship the Mayor be asked to formally open

the Competitions "lit the Town Hall on. Tuesday, 11th July, at 2 p.m., and to preside, the chairmen for the following days to be appointed later. It was resolved that Mr A. H.
