Nobody m particular will complaini about the Native Minister being titled. Sir James Carroll has won his .spurs by long service, if by (nothing else. Ais for Dr Eindlay, he has introduced a prison reform scheme which has'.yet "to be tried.. That is. all. His 'kiiiight-' hood will come afiot so.' njuch ais /a; surprise; a-s a,' , ' , bom^\in : tic camp. The honour conferred r "Jp>-, on Ma- Justice Williams > is ; weill-dßs;eryied, arid Sir Arthur Guinness does nofb read so biadly.' ; Why special distinctions should have been conferred upon Dr Fitchett and Mr R. J. Collins most people will be at a loss to know. They have, however, been faithful servants of the Government, and one, at least, has distinguished himself in .the military system of the country. On the whole, the. advisers of His Majesty the KSng have done their work well.
