QUAIL ISLAND LEPERS.
GHiRISTCHUIICH, Last Night. A Times reporter went over to Quail Island, in Lyttelton Harbour, on Saturday, when the Health Officer made his .weekly visit. The Health Officer is the only person, who comes- into direct contact with the, lepers. He is administering the Nastaii treatment, and the patients are making good, progress under it. Canon Goates also visited the island to liold a brief service. The leper? complain of the monotony of their life, and particularly of the diet, but otherwise express themselves as being satisfied with their treatment. The report that they might escape was ridiculed. All three, said they were anxious tq, get well and return to their homes. V
