MR E. J. RIDDIFORD'S WILL.
PROVED FOR PROBATE AT £300,000. £12,2.38 DUTY ON PARTNERSHIP DEED. The estate- of ike late Mr E. J. Riddaford, of Lower Hutt, has been valued at £300,000. The deceased provided for the distribution of his estate in a lengthy will followed by five codicils, the last dated within a. month of death. To the widow lie bequeathed the residence ' 'Fern Grove," Lower Hutt-, and £IOOO for immediate requirements. it is provided that upon Mrs- Rkldi ford's transference of her partnership interests in the Ruamahamga property to her sons (the remaining partners) she shall become entitled to an annuity of £2OOO per annum, to be reduced to £2OO per annum in the event of her marriage.
A trust fund is to be created for the benefit of the three daughters. TUxat in respect of Elsie Catherine Harriett Lindsay (wlho received a nywriago settlement)' is to be. £20,000, while the- fund will total £30,000 in respect to each' of the remaining daughters, Phyllis and Nga-irej Riddaford. #'»
Tflie large landed interests of the deceased are covered by a deed of partnership with his' sous, EdwarclVivuan, Darnel Henry Strother, and Eric Leslie Raddiliord,, executed in June, 1907. Upton this deed stamp duty amounting to £12,238 was paid.. Hie deceased'& interests revert-, to the surviving partners. The lands referred to therein are as follow: Tfe Awaite, 51,200 acres; Glen burn, 12,432 acres; Oroaigorongo, 584 acres freehold and 7196 acres leasehold ; Piuke Atua, 5683 freehold and 5886 leasehold; Tablelands, 8673 acres' leasehold; Ruamahanga, 761 acres freehold. LE&ACIES.
The following legacies free of duty are provided:— To Oliver A&hby B>unny (brother-in-law of deceased),' £500; William Bunny (manager of Glleiubuni property), £2000; Daniel G. A. Cooper (nephew) £2000; Tiaaacred Cooper (nepihew) £200; Kathleen Marjory and Ruth Humphrey ; (imces)' ; £-500 each Jane: 'U (nurse) £100; David Da.vies (ex-em-ployee) £150; William Aristis (stockman), £100; Annie Lee (exemployee) £100; Mildred Butler (housemaid to Mrs Riddiford) £250 and a life annuity of £loo.' F<xr the benefit- of Emily Pratt (niece), wife of Jiohn R. F. Pratt, the sum of £SOO is to be invested by the trustees.
