GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S RESIDENCE.
AND THE NAVAL HEADQUARTERS. (Received Last Night, 9.50 o'clock.? SYDNEY, June 19. _ Talk in Government circles indicates that there is a probability of the naval headquarters being removed to Auckland in about a year's time. Admiralty House will then revert to the State. This, it is considered, would make a suitable residence for the Governor-General, and it will possibly be so arranged. The Lord Mayor of Sydney has promised a deputation of representative citizens that he would call a public meeting to discuss the State's proposal to deprive the Governor-General of his present Sydney residence, which has aroused much opposition amongst supporters of the Opposition.
