TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST.

WELLINGTON. Last Night
The Rev. D. CBates, of the Meteo-' rological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast :—•
Southerly gales were experienced in many parts of the Dominion during Wednesday night, but the winds have decreased to-day. Rain fell during the night, and frosts in other parts. The weather has been cold generally, but the conditions have improved today. The barometer rose during the night, but has remained steady today.
Present indications are .for cold and changeable weather. Mist and showers at times in various parts of the country, though improved conditions generally. Variable winds, but moderate to # strong southerly winds, predominating, and a rising tendency in the barometer.
