MAIL STEAMER DAMAGED.
CONVOYED TO SYDNEY. (Received Last Night, 8.20 o'clock.) SYDNEY, June 15. The French mail steamer Pacifique has arrived from Noumea under convoy of the warship Kersant. The Pacifique struck a reef before leaving Noumea, and damaged the steering gear. She will be docked at Sydney. The warship convoyed her as a precautionary measure.
