NEW ZEALAND FORECAST.

WELLINGTON. Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates,, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast :
Cold and .showery weather has prevailed, with hail and isleet in . the South, and jsnow on the higher levels. Southerly winds, strong »to gale, have prevailed, with a rising barometer everywhere.
Present indications are for southerly winds, .strong to gale, and squally at times. Cold and showery weather generally, and snow on higher levels in tlie .South. The barometer will probably rise everywhere.
