SYDNEY HARBOUR.
DEALING WITH THE CONGESTION.
(Received Last Night, 8.25 o'plock.) SYDNEY, June 1.4.
The Hon. Mr Carmichael told a deputation representing the Steamship Owners' Federation and Merchants, that the Government had provided an additional £160,000 for resumptions in connection with" the removing of the congestion along the 'water front, besides the extensive works that are in progress. To this end, the Harbour Trust proposed finishing within fifteen Months a foad from 80 to 100 feet wide round the harbour from Circular Quay to Kent Street.
