—, —* NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. (By ; Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Last Nighi ' ) The Rov..D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast: — The cyclone which is now passing northward of the Bay of Plenty accounts for the gloomy and showery weather, especially in the north. With southerly winds, strong to gale, generally, the barometer has riser, everywhere. Present indications are for southeasterly and southerly winds, strong to a heavy gale, and cold weather in most parts of the country. Rain is probable generally. Heavy rain, with rivers flooded, on East Coast, especially of th' 3 North Island, and snow on higher levels in the south. Barometer will probably rise fast everywhere, and i high pressure succeed.
