DISTRICT NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondent*.)
KAIPARORO.
Rain has fallen here almost continuously throughout the week, anld a change to finer weather would now be greatly appreciated. Owing to mud and metal, the roads in the district are now thoroughly typical of the backblocks, and motorists and -cyclists who are daring enough to venture into the settlement during wet weather have a somewhat rough trip. The .monthly meeting of the School Committee was hold last Monday wight, when the usual routine .business was transacted.
On Thursday night a very enjoyable long night dance took place in the hall. There was a fair attendance, and dancing was kept up until 2 a.m. Music was supplied 'by Mr' C. Grey, of Eketahuna, and extras were played by Messrs Holdsworth anld' Edwards.
Owing to counter attractions the usual euchre party, which was to have been held in the hall on Saturday night, was"postponed. Mrs Dick, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs Udy, is at present enjoying a month's holiday at Wainui.
