SLAUGHTER OF CHINAMEN
CHINA DEMANDS INDEMNITY

MEXICO CITY, June l(b Reports from Elpaso states that an order has been issued for the deportation of 300 Chinamen from Mexjieo. It is believed that they attempted to gain an entrance into the United States. The Chinese Government is demanding an indemnity of 12,000,000 pesos (about £2,400,000) in consequence of th 9 slaughter of 300 Chinese subjects at Terron. China slso demands an apology. A Chinese warship is en route for Mexican waters. The Federals abandoned Terron without giving notice.' The ruffian element having broke loose, they started to massacre the Chinese coming into the place. The rebels aided them. The heads of the Chinamen were rolled down the streets, and their bodies were tied to horses' tails. Twenty-five were murdered at a Chinese Bank. The intervention of a foreigner stayed further slaughter.
