FACTORY MEAL-TIME.

The following circular is being issued to employens by the Labour Department:— "1 am led to believe that the ,meal time allowed "to' your employees is only thirty minutes, and 1 I respectfully direct your attention-: to .section 18, .sub-section 6 of the Factories Act, 1908, which .states, inter, alia, 'for not more than five hours continuously without threequartens of an hour being allowed for a meal.' I would be pleased to know the .practice in your factories.' If you do not allow your employees three-quarters of an hour I respectfully- request you to arrange matters forthwith."
