CARTERTON.
A confirmation service is to be held at St. Mark's Church, on Sunday, June 25th, after -the evening service.
Mr C. Hodder, of T-angaia, eldest son of Mr Jas. Hodder, of Dalefield, had the misfortune to receive a kick in the face from a horse on Monday. He sustained a fractured jaw, and in addition had several teeth knocked out. Mr Hodder is at present an inmate of the Pahiatua Hospital, where he is doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances. A very pleasant dance under the auspices of the Clareville Tennis Club was held on Thursday evening, and was largely attended. Splendid music was supplied by Misses Maguire (piano and violin), and Mr M. Maguire (cornet). Messrs W. Fisher and S. Slovens were M.'sC. A tasty supper was provided by the ladies.
