LONDON, June 7
Mr Mills, Vice-President, in n speecli at the Hearts of Oak Benefit Society's annual conference,-declared that they did not require the Government toteach them thrift. It would be the endeavour of 400,000 members with nearly £4,000,000 to resist any inroads on their resources by any Government.
It was resolved to invite the Hon. D. Lloyd-George to meet them to discuss the Insurance Bill.
The Manchester Unity of Oddfellows has apprOyed of the National Insurance Bill, provided that amendments safeguarding Friendly Societies are made.
