LONDON MARKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cabled information from their London house, under date of June Ist: — Frozen Meat.—Mutton; There is a fair demand at last quotations, but prices are inclined to be weaker. Lamb: Fair demand at last quotations. Beef: Market unchanged. Tallow. —For low and inferior descriptions prices are 6d per cwt lower, but no business has been done with other qualities.
" PONGAROA STOCK SALE? Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows The above sale was held on June Ist, together with Dalgety and Co., Ltd., and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., when an extra heavy yarding of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle were, offered to a. large attendance of farmers and outside buyers. The bulk of the sheep comprised agen ewes and fair to medium lambs, for which there was good enquiry, and practically all lines were cleared at good market values. Our entry comprised about 2000 sheep and most of the cattle, all of which we disposed of with one or two exceptions, on values quite on a par with outside centres. Quotations: Sound mouth ewes in lamb, 6s 8d to 6s lid; full mouth ewes in lamb, 3s to 4s sd; empty ewes, 3s 9d to 8s; good lambs, 6s 9d to 8s; fair lambs, 3s lid to 4s 9d ; 2$ and 3-year steers, £4 14s 6d; store cows, 30s; small weaners 20s to 225.
