NEW ZEALAND FORECAST.

WELLINGTON. Last Night,
The Rev. D. C. Bates issued the following summary ami forecast . tonight :
A westerly area of low pressure haa prevailed and the barometer has fallen low in the South, and strong westerly winds have been recorded, with rain in many parts, especially on the West Coast. Cloudy and misty weather lias been experienced in northern districts, and on the East Coast of the South Island.
Present indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, veering to the southerly everywhere, soon. Rain and colder weather is probable generally, and snoAv on the higher levels in.the South. The barometer is due 1 to rise everywhere soon.- Rough weather is probable in Cook and Foveaux Straits, and heavy seas on the West Coast.
