THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. The change of programme at the Foresters' Hall was an. excellent one, and drew a crowded house. Contained in the varied .ball-of-fare were several of the latest productions from the successful studios, of the Vitagraph Company, whose.pictures are noted for tlieirt ■•novel plots, superb setting, and realistic acting. Special mention must be made of "The Colour Sergeant's Horse," a capital military drama, in which the sagacity of a horse.is i'ldly. displayed. , The plot is founded 1 , on- the -Soudan: war. The horse is seen on the battlefield, where he rescues his wounded master and re-captures the colours, of his regiment. "The Light in the Window" tells a tale of the sea, woven round a pretty love romance and a woman's honour. Tire nautical effects in this picture are extremely good:. xhe Neighbouring Kingdom" is an old-time study with an. interesting theme, and vividly portraying the doings of kings and queens in early periods. Shakespeare's masterpiece, "Hamlet," was submitted in an entirely new cast of principals, and mounting, the whole making a glorious spectacle. A" special attraction was "The Taming of Animals," in-which miany birds and dogs are put through some wonderful tricks. "In Moment's Folly" and "The Fisherman's Love" make strong dramatic pictures. A comedy of the sparkling kind, with many humorous- situations, is seen in "All's Fair in Love." Two picturesque, scenics were entitled "Japan, the Land of Sunshine," and "The Isle of Bornholm." A numib&r of excellent comics were shown. The programme will be repeated to-night.
