DESCRIBED AS SKIRMISHERS. (Received Last Night, 11.5 o'clock.) LONDON, June 1. At the conference of Survcyorsl General, Lord Lucas, who presided, ( described surveyors as skirmishers in j front of the army. Their work was l becoming more important, in that the J Dominions were being opened up _at lan unexampled rate. If the profession ,was organised on a wide Imperial basis, it would attract the best class of men. [\ t . ; Sir Duncan'Johnston was chosen as Chairman of the Conference.
