DRINK AND ATHLETICS.
The W'ainarapa Hockey Association has pursued a wise course in taking stringent measures to prevent discredit being 'brought upon (players of the game by the encouragement of drinking habits among travelling teams. It would seem that the correspondence which has been published in the Age upon t(he subject has excited apprehension, in the minds of not a few parents, and prompt action was necessary if the wiholesoinenes'S of the sport was to be maintained. Similar action on the part of the Rugby Union would have a reassuring effect.
