COMPETITIONS.
The M'asterton Musical and Elocutionary Competitdonis Society is receiving gratifying support from many outside districts, and it is hoped that its initial effort will be a great success. For isome • inexsph* cable reason the Society is not receiving that support from townspeople which its commendable objects deserve. It is safe to say that the competitions will bring hundreds of visitors to the town; that the gatherings will be a revelation and inspiration to those who are fond of music and can appreciate literary attainment; anxl that the town will be much the better for these highly educational contests. For these reasons alone residents of the, district .should be_. proud of the institution and do all M,.their pow<sir to assist those who have .in view the one object of improving and. entertaining the people.
