THE TRUST ELECTION.

: [To The Editor. I Sir',— Since the Trust election has been occupying public atU'i.tion, ( have been following, with the greatest interest, the doings of the various candidates. Circumstances prevented my attending the meetings, but, nevertheless, I was fully con•versant with ithe various views. My favourite on ithis occasion happened to be Mr Robinson, whose efforts apepaled to me, as they 'did to many otlhers. When the election day arrived, howeyer, my surprise and disappointment were great at finding no one canavssing "our" way (which is a mile and a half froon a booth), with motors. lam not one of tOlose to vote for "whoever fetches them," but Mr Robinson is right. The man with these luxuries wins. A little goes a long way, and many dote 011 patronage. No doubt some ' will say, "If that is the case we are better -without the votes." Perhaps so, but every one helps, and "All's fair in love and war." I also fully endorse Mr Robinson's remarks re fairness of the Masterton Press, and 'the broad-mindedness of your valuable journal is to be specially commented on. Occasionally some severe sarcasm is indulged in ; but that merely igive "tone," and one", is never quite certain who will "laugh last." Thanking you, Sir, for the space in your columns.— I am, etc., "MULTTJM IN PARVO."
