Mr R. B. Ross, M.P. for Pahiatna, was a visitor to Napier last wee': The many friends of Mrs J. M. Coradine, the Mayoress of Masteiton, will regret to hear that she is suffering from a rather serious illness. Staff-Captain Newbold, of the Salvation Army, who has been on a visit to Masterton, returns to Wellington this morning. Mr Thomas Wagg, of Masterton, will proceed to Sydney this week cn business connected with the antoma--tie gas-lighter. Mr A. H. Davidson, a well-known member of the sfaff of the Bank of Australia at Eltham, died on Thursday from typhoid fever. The Hon. James Carroll will pay a visit to the South Island early next month. Mr John Hessey is at present confined to a private hospital : n Masterton. Mr- Frank Crosbie has sufficiently recovered from his recent operation to be able to leave the Masterton Hospital. Mr and Mrs A. Wall, of Rongomai, leave this week on a visit to Australia. Mr W. L. Falconer leaves Masterion on his trip to the Old Country in : t'oo course of a few days. Sir John Kirk, the distinguished secretary of the Ragged School Union, London, has notified the Rev. J. H. McKenzie, of Nelson, that he proposed to visit Australia and New Zealand this year, arriving in the Dominion in November or December. ilr W. F. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, addresses a public meet ing in Riverton to-night.
