WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wellington Land Board was held on Thursday, Mr James Mackenzie, Commissioner of Crown Lands, presiding. There- were also present:—Messrs Jas. Dawson, Jas. Georgetti, H. T. Ellingham. and Wm. M'Lennan. With reference to Mr John Harvey's application for the freehold title of' Sections 29 and 30, Block XIV, Tararua, 250 acres, the Commissioner supplied informatiQii as to the fulfilment of the residential conditions on the sections. The board decided to postpone the matter for further information, leaving the matter in tho Commissioner's hands to pass if satis-
factory. Mr G. Hyde, lessee of Section 18, Block X, Aohauga, 200 acres, applied to obtain the freehold title, and it was resolved that Mr J. B. F. Sutherland, j ■Crown Lands Banger, the appraiser, make the required valuation. Transfers were approved .as under : Lot 1 of Section 111, Tuataekara, 10 acres 0 roods 10 perches, from J. ' Avery to J. Pryde. Section 90, Block I, Makuri, 10 acres, from W. Cruden to M. N. Olson. Section 87, Block I, Makuri, Mangaramarama Tillage Settlement, 12 acres, from W. Cruden to M. V. J Olsen. | Section 85, Block I, Makuri, Mangaramarama Village Settlement, 14 acres, from W. Cruden to M. N. Olsen. Section 39, Block XVIII, Manga-' hao, 9 acres 1 rood 23 perches, from executors of .will of T. Dray (deceased) to J. Wells. The following sub-leases were ap- j proved:— ' Section 18b, Block V, Mt. Cerberus, 17 acres 2 roods 14 perches, T. O'Gor- I man to T. Gillard and A. R. Gillard; j Section 17, Block V, Mt. Cerberus, 200 acres, T. O'Gorman to T. Gillard and A. R. Gillard. Mr W. L. Hawkins applied to transfer Section 6, Block VI, Tiffin, Carrington Settlement, 98 acres 0 roods 38 perches, to Mr J. C. Simonek, on , the ground that ho has to return to England as soon as possible on business. —Taking into consideration the special circumstances of the case, the Board decided to recommend the Minister to grant the transfer. Mr C. Rock applied to transfer Section 35 (Parts 1 and 2), Block VII, Tararua, 201 acres, To Mr Samuel Smith, lesee of section 33, adjoining (200 acres). —Transfer approved. Mr W. H. Fisk applied to transfer Section 4a, Block XI, Mangahao, 123 acres 0 roods 8 perches, to Mr G. Gregory, lesseo of Section 3a of Lot 2, 56 acres 0 roods 28 perches, adjoining.—lt was decided to decline the application on account of the aggregation of the family. Mr W. H. Reed, lessee of Sections 8 and 9, Block I, Mangahao, 400 acres, applied to transfer the- same to Mr J. ,). Page, and it was resolved to approve if the ranger's report was satisfactory. It was decided to approve of Section 4, Block XII, Pongaroa, area 2 roods .06 perches, being offered for cash by public auction at an upset price of I £l4.
Tho Board decided to rescind tho resolution passed on February 2nd, and to recommend that Section 98, Block VI. Wairarapa, area 83 acres, he subdivided into two equal portions j and allotted to the adjoining owners, | Messrs Tanner and Tockor, under Sec- | tion 129 of the Land Act. 1908. at the ■ price of 20s per aero. Applicants to pay cost of subdivision. A report was received from the C.L.R to tho effect that Mr H. G. Hunter, lessees of sections 5 to S inclusive, Block XI, Aohanga, 1175 acres was residing intermittently, and thai, his family resides in Dannovirke, and it was resolved to accept the report as satisfactory in the meantime.
