VERY PROSPEROUS PERIOD

SYDNEY, May 26

At the half-yearly meeting of the Bank of New Soutlx Wales, it was shown that tihe profits were £204,373, to which £57,342 from last year had to be added. A dividend at the rate of 10 per cent, was declared. A sum of £53,265 was placed to the reserve fund, and £62,113 was carried forward. The new capital paid up amounted to £186,9-10, making a capital of £2,913,820. Tfae Chairman stated that the deposits, especially fixed, were still on .the rise, owing to. the general prosperity and the accumulation of money awaiting investment. Bills discounted, and loans and. advances, showed an increase of £2,400,000, which was well spread throughout Australia and New Zealand.
