ART PICTURES.
FOR EDUCATION BOARD SCHOOLS.
At the meeting of the Wellington Education Board, to be held on Tuesday next, the Chairman (Mr Rober.t Lee) will move in the direction of procuring a supply of art pictures, to be exhibited in the various schools of the district. Mr Lee suggests that a frame"be fixed on the walls fronting, .the classes, in which shall'be exhibited art pictures in colours, or in monochrome, and that engravings or photographs be supplied by the Education Board and changed once a .year. .An Art Association of London has offered to send £IOO worth on approval, if the Board will undertake to expend £SO. Mi- Lee suggests that framing might be fixed tins year in the senior class-roomls, and next year in all schools above Grade 1., and that Inspector Tennant, who is about to visit England, make arrangements for a isupply of suitable pictures.
